Setup steps

Onboarding follows the same sequence on every platform: confirm the configuration, connect the program, load card stock, test at the register, then go live. Timelines depend on how many locations and devices are in scope.

  1. 1Confirm the Dejavoo series and model in each location.
  2. 2Have your processor or reseller load the Factor4 gift application to the terminal.
  3. 3Bind each terminal to your Factor4 program with the onboarding credentials.
  4. 4Confirm card stock or an existing card range for migration.
  5. 5Test activation, redemption, partial redemption and balance inquiry.
  6. 6Go live. Typical elapsed time from kickoff to first live card: two to four weeks.

What the workflow looks like at the terminal

Four actions cover almost everything a clerk does with a gift card: activate, redeem, redeem part of a balance, and check a balance. Each one runs against the same real-time ledger, so a card sold at one location works instantly at another.

  • Activate: open the gift menu, activate the card by swipe or keyed entry, enter the amount.
  • Redeem: open the gift menu, redeem, swipe the card and enter the amount.
  • Partial redemption: the terminal draws the available balance and prints the balance due.
  • Balance check: run a balance inquiry from the gift menu.
